Many people have told me what they think of me by their words and actions. Based on their opinions and my own experiences, I’ve formed beliefs about who I am.
But what really matters is who God says I am.
|Satan’s Lie||God’s Truth|
|I am a sinner, inherently flawed and therefore unlovable.||I am a child of God who sins on occasion. God has declared me righteous.|
|I receive my identity from what people say about me||I receive my identity from what God says about me.What I or others think about me is irrelevant.|
|I base my value upon what I have or can accomplish||I base my value upon the purpose for which God created and called me.|
|My behaviours confirm what I believe about myself.||God’s purpose and opinion of me determines my behaviour|
